Ep12 - Rachel v's Sarah
The show starts with him going for a paddle, not sure why – maybe to show his abs are through effort?
The golden envelope clue for the group date is “Lets draw a little closer together”.
All of them are going – makes sense given he felt he didn’t have enough time with them. They are all excited except…
Rachel doesn’t like the concept of competing for a man,s he doesn’t want to share. Um what are earth are you doing on a reality show about competing for a man’s love then?
Then turn up to a warehouse and after announcing they have to do some life art of Sam, he goes to greet Heather first – although she was the closest to him.
I find this a refreshing role reversal on TV. The girls get to perv and swoon over his body as they sculpt then draw a picture of him.
Heather and Sarah get to work undressing him. Thanks girls!
The girls reaction about their artistic capabilities is pretty funny, most laugh at their abilities but we don’t see much commentary from Snezana.
Lana and Heather get teamed up – AWKWARD – but their attitudes bring them through, top chick. However their artists skills could do with a little development. Their effort looks less greek god and more Jabba The Hut. Friggin hilarious!
They move onto drawing him and serious Rachel, could you be any more childish. Not only does she complain more than once, she also writes a message to him.
I’m starting to see how the producers work, Rachel – shut up!!! She tell him that she thought she’d take you away as she doesn’t like sharing. She’s so aggressive and quite masculine, she asks him for his life story in under a minute. He looks shocked and pretty uncomfortable. But when he asks her back it’s like she has nothing to say about herself. You are what we call Hard Work and you won’t get a first date let alone a relationship if you continue this way.
Anyway Sam has to blind judge the work and select his favourite drawing. Heather was a close 2nd but Snezana gets some 1:1 time.
There are a few things to work out between Snez living in Perth and him coming from Melbourne, he asks the tough but reasonable question “How attached to WA are you”.
She replies that she loves it but in a weird way feels she doesn’t belong there. Yikes I hope she briefs her family and friends before this gets aired. Then she shares with him that she was angry that Lana came back from 1:1 date with a rose. She states that the ‘original’ girls all feel there might be some feelings and view their being there until the end is that he wants to spend time with their families. So its uncomfortable that so late in the piece that somebody has been able to turn his head so quickly. Good on her for saying it up front.
Whilst I agree that strong connections can spring from anywhere, it would be disconcerting that another player can have equal running so quickly.
He’s looks a little put off and is a bit defensive with his response. “All the rose is saying is that I don’t know this new girl and I want to spend more time with her”.
Now Sammy, that’s not the full truth now is it?…
She confirms that she was jealous but it’s OK with him, he likes that she cares as much. Although his body language has changed slightly and he pulled away from her.
So onto the single date and the clue is “Lets indulge our senses” this one is for Sarah. Wow, the 3rd date He’s been planning it for a while. She gets some diamond earrings in the limo – girlfriend, please remove the silver rings on your hands though.
He tell us that ‘Every time Sarah and I have time with just 2 of us we get closer together’, yuh well of course. How far can their relationship go he comments, considerations such as the age difference (she’s 25) and living together – she tells him that she lived on her own for 3 years. She was going to live in London before her dream about the bachelor.
Tonight is all about romancing her so he organized an opera singer. He knows he feels really strongly about her and wants to get to know more about her. Thankfully she get emotional about the performance and shows of her cultured side to compete with Lana.
They share a passionate kiss when he gives her the rose (it was almost awkward watching) and he can see his life with her. I hope he has a big house for all the girls.
The difference of the return from the single date at the cocktail party is very different and as Lana boldly states outloud, extremely awkward.
Rachel gets some 1:1 time and straight up asks him what qualities he’s looking for in a woman.
He wants a smart, creative, beautiful, caring and somebody he could start a family with – doesn’t sound exactly like Rachel. She tells us that she gets lost in his eyes and tunes out from their conversation so doesn’t remember the details. I’m embarrassed to be a blond today. It seems that she freezes up when she gets time with him. This lady is seriously insecure.
At the ceremony Sarah has her rose, Heather is in first then Nina(?), Snezana then Lana.
Bye bye Rachel it wasn’t that great knowing you. Seriously you are rude and self centered. Sam is way too decent for you.
She tells us that he should have put in more effort, he should sell himself to me says Rachel in the limo home.
There is an element of truth to ‘him selling himself to you too’, in the normal world, however you came onto a reality show. He also has great connections with the ladies, you just need to be yourself and if he is attracted to you, you can make your mind up then.
The 3rd degree questioning without giving anything back is not going to roll in any environment sweetheart real or reality.
