Ep 10 Lana is kept in the dark, sweet times for Heather

"I definitely think it will cause some dramas if one of the new girls gets a date ahead of us." says Nina.

There was some spark between Sam and I says Lana.

Mind your business says Rachel. Oh boy, I thought we’d just got rid of all the prickly ones. I guess they saw it cleaning up and brought in somebody with some sass to make it more interesting – god forbid we keep it about LOVE! Sam getting on like a house of fire with 4 of the girls isn’t drama enough I’m guessing.

“If those new girls start getting singles dates before I get a 2nd date I don’t know how im going to feel” says some random voice over, perhaps Sarah?

The single date envelope arrive and all think it’s Ebru’s time. “This could be the sweetest day of all” it states and its for….. dun dun duuuun. Heather! Yippee – well I’m happy. “Sam makes me feel real girlie” she says to the camera.

The Group date envelope delivered at the same time is for everyone. Please meet me all outside. Ah but there is a twist, only 5 can go on the date, so he has to tell them face to face his decision on the spot. Awkward…. Not for Sam. Sarah we had the last date, Heather you’ve got one tomorrow, so I’ll take the other 5.

GUYS TIP – Always respect the pack, it’s safer for you that way.

Physical attraction can happen in a second says another random voice.

Sam wants to find out if there is more than physical attraction.

Nina, Rachel, Ebru, Lana and Snezana head off to some undisclosed setting and after putting blindfolds on, walk into the unknown. Yikes!!

The girls naturally start to relax in the dark and Sam seats himself between Lana and Rachel it looked a little set up. AS expected Lana and Sam’s bond increases. She is comfortable in her femininity and they get on very easily. The other girls hear and feel the connection between them.

Ebru and Nina carry on a bit which bothers Rachel. At which point Sam quite rightly asks a question to bring some civility to the silliness – im actually surprised a little by Snezana here.

What is the one thing that is a turn off about a man asks Sam.

Bad teeth blurts out Nina immediately, girlie hands says Snez, Lana says messy eating. Rachel doesn’t wanted to contribute to the conversation too much. This is a little weird here. Its either strategy or just plain being difficult. Sharing an opinion from a flood blogger doesn’t sound like a big ask.

Anyhoo it doesn’t matter, he chooses to spend the evening with Lana which makes all the girls a little uncomfortable.

“I really do feel there is an initial rapport and spark with Lana, and it was nice to spend some quality time with her and let her know that there is still enough time together. She is a really interesting person that I want to know more about.” States Sam to the camera.

The 2 things that stood out for him were her eyes and her sophistication, the dark made other things stand out (ie she didn’t act like a 12 year old).

She brings up the topic of chemistry. She is inquisitive, mature and intelligent. He feels very comfortable around her and thinks it’s going to happen again. Oh oh!

Personally I think she is a beautiful person inside and out, I think there is something about her that lights him up, her wide range of knowledge with a soft undertone of confidence is very appealing.

We then we move onto Heathers date, where he turns up driving an ice cream truck! “Sweetness and memories are the theme for the day”, he says. He’s just hoping to match her white rose efforts for their first date.

You get my childlike behaviors she says, it’s not that I get yours, its that I have it too says Sam.. That’s convenient says Heather. J I’m a total big kid he replies. Hmm I think this is a pretty insightful aspect here. If he can get to be himself with one where he can’t with one of the others, I think it will make his final choice easier. He’s often said he wants a fun girl.

A special Alice and Wonderland scene is set up for her, with a mountain of deserts prepared by Darren Purchase. Wowwy. Again a completely unrealistic date!!

Everytime I’m with heather I feel like I’m in a little bubble with her. She’s bubbly, happy and cheerful. He asks if she’s always like this. Life can be really full on and its too short to spend worry about things, she replies. “I don’t think there is anything sexier than a guy who loves what he does. The passion factor bring out the best of people.” Another great moment here but…

From the outside perspective whilst its fun, the femininity isn’t coming through enough, the intimacy and genuine feelings are missing or not being expressed.

Voice over – from the moment I met Sam I just knew he was a man I could fall in love with. SO TELL HIM!!

He shares with the camera, I find myself sitting there watching her, being mesmerised. OK.

The connection is enough for him and Heather cries when he gives her the red rose – GREAT!!!! That’s what he needs to see beyond the fun and laughter.

She then articulates the levels of connection they have. This is what is needed Heather, stop being so strong and controlled. She shares her perspective that 1 minute they are having a deep conversation and the next they’re talking about superhero’s.

They both feel the same and are equally intrigued by the other. Hmmm maybe she is the front runner wit the fun and connection being equal. Perhaps her view that friendship first builds trust and intimacy. Not a bad theory Heather, confusing for others but I think it has legs.

Onto the cocktail party and Rachel seems to be missing. There are now 7 girls left.

Heather is telling the date story when Sam walks in, it’s one of the those awkward moments when you want to curl up and shy away. Busted! It’s kinda funny.

Sam has a 1:1 chat with Lana, then with Sarah – which is a bit awkward – she seems to get really nervous with him – I don’t think this will stand her in good stead going forward. With Nina he declares that he’s looking for love and that there might be tears from here on.

The 5 original girls are definitely realigning themselves together. Rachel unfortunately seems to be creating a rift by pulling Lana to the side for a chat.

At the Rose Ceremony Heather has her rose. Rachel states it would be unfair to come in and be sent home so soon.

I think either Ebru, or Rachel will be departing.

Lana is called first - interesting

Nina

Snezana

Sarah

I think he will reject Ebru as he will want to take more time to check out if there could be a connection with Rachel. I do think she will be next though.

Yep Ebru is going home.

She states that she will still find love though. I think she will too.

I pick either Nina or Rachel leaving next.

My question for this blog is.

There are different types of love, he has a strong connection with Sarah, Snezana, Heather and Lana, whilst we haven’t seen all of what has taken place… what do you think the differences in their relationships with Sam are?
