Ep 5 - The World Record Episode

We start Episode 5 with the girls STILL talking about the ‘peck on the lips’ between Snez & Sam. Haha wait until they see the play back of this weeks at the finale!

Disclaimer, i'm now a fan of Heather, I think she's got her head screwed on straight and is simply a nice person.

The single date is announced and Snezanna hugs Nina when she’s told she has a 1:1 date. I like Snez.

Nina shares with us that she’s had her heart broken and has been taking her time to work out what she wants from a relationship. 4 ½ years, I hope you know coz it’s about to be broadcast around the nation. I also like Nina.

Sam shares with Nina before they head of in a boat again on the harbor that due to her patience he has been saving something special for her. He thinks she might be a thrill seeker who likes find and adventure. Fingers crossed.

Pretty much straight away contrary to Heather’s more laid back approach Nina is right into the hugs on the boat. I’m sure it’s cold being winter in Sydney. She spent hours getting ready and is a little precious about the jump suit to climb the harbor bridge. I was more concerned about her white top myself.

At the top Osher is waiting with another equally well clad gent, where they are told they are going to attempt the Worlds Longest onscreen kiss – 3.48 seconds.

Nina – I have no idea why? – is right up for it. He looks positively nervous when she’s told.

Before they start they both share that they are both nervous, um yuy!

He hope’s she’s a great kisser, she feels like it’s her year 10 formal – what teenagers get up to nowadays!!

Not even a minute in and I want to shut Osher up, it must have been seriously off putting. I wonder if they got to have more than 1 attempt? Hmmm.

The longer it went the easier it was ‘to get into it’ says Sam.

I’d have him against the railing by the 2 minute mark. Have to say it was pretty weird watching, a pretty passionate kiss if I might say so.

At the 4 minute mark, Nina squeezes his back to not let go, I don’t think id want to either. So it’s a new world record with 4.10 seconds. I can hear the producers cheering and high fiving each other now. Job Done for this week.

Sam quite rightly shares that it’s changed the dynamic of their ‘relationship’. Ya think? Then adds, lets not get ahead of ourselves. Time to spend some quality time getting to know one another after spending several hours getting dressed up and into an amazingly set lounge area.

I must find out who is setting these gorgeous scenes. Truly marriage proposal stuff.

Nina asks the pertinent questions of why he’s on the show, and shares that he’s pretty good at reading people. He can’t see her being flustered. She is a wedding planner dude. Then they share family losses and values, seems they have some things in common.

I love that he gives out the rose half way through dates, that are going well. In fact there are lots of mindful and awareness actions he takes throughout the shows.

Back to the house and Heather tells the camera that she and Sam have agreed (at her request) to keep their intimacy between private. I wonder if she’s shared just how hard it must be in the house with all the gossiping.

Anyway the group date is announced, bubble soccer, two teams are formed and after changing into suitable short shorts the green team win a group date that evening, have to say there were a few hobbles when we see them afterward.

Oh forgot to mention how UTTERLY loud Sandra is, I wasn’t going to judge but Sandra you need some self esteem help.

We revert back to a bit of gossip with the girls in the house and Nina suggests that Emily approach Sam for a date – I saw that Nina, sneaky minx. Emily advises the camera that she will not approach him though.

Group date “break them” / “take them down” says the teams (Sandra and Heather).

Onto the evening with the Green team, and Sam shares with the camera that Sandra is friendly and bubbly, with a massive heart, but So full on ALL of the time. Ah he now sees what the girls have seen.

Having a 1:1 chat with Sandra she’s asks Sam what his take is of the program.

He replies that it’s a unique and unorthodox situation.

He then comments to the camera that its sometimes better to stop and think, before continuing to talk…. Sandra.

Onto the Cocktail party

Sandra adds to the camera that thinks she is going into the cocktail party with a good chance.

Emily shares that she thinks Heather has a lot of jealousy of other girls. There is an element of insecurity of image when she compares herself to the others beauties in there, yes, but jealous, sorry Emily you’re wrong. PS Heather your pretty good looking too.

Sam asks Emily for a 1:1 chat to ask how’s she’s doing. There is that consideration again. But as she’s standing up she snips ‘about time’ to the group. He states to her that he thinks she’s going to be a tough nut to crack, oh oh, I think part of him might like that challenge.

She asks him directly what exactly is he looking for. He advises that he’s an old school romantic (woo hoo they are still alive) but we knew he was.

He’s looking for chemistry not great friends with the limited time they have. He is looking to be blown away at the same time, wants somebody fun, silly and doesn’t take life too seriously. Ummmm.

The girls are still bitching (oops I mean talking) about Heather and the friendship thing.

He then pulls her outside for a chat and asks how it’s been for her since their last date.

Ok some observations, he hasn’t (or they haven’t shown yet) him doing that with Sarah who was the first 1:1 or Snez who had the 2nd.

She always gets a chat with him at the cocktail party, nobody else has, but of course the producers might be messing with us – probably. I’m feeling a shock ‘twist’ brewing.

Back at the house, I love that Heather is being girlie and shy in response.

I can’t look you in the eye she states “I may or may not have missed you”. Nice. He tells her that he has missed her too.

She continues “You’re gonna have to get rid of me – even though its tough in the house”. Sam replies I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to. NICE!!

They part with a kiss on the lips would have Jasmin gossiping for hours.

At the Rose ceremony

Nina has a rose from the single date. There will be 1 departure.

I really take note of the order her calls the girls out. Tonight I predict Sandra.
